Nowadays Keerai/greens are part of our weekly diet. Yes, that is all because of my kid. I make sure to include Greens at least a day in a week. Sometimes, I include in the weekends too. That is for my hubby. I make it as Keerai poriyal/Keerai Curry/Greens stir fry if I prepare for him. For my kid and me, I will just cook and grind. I will post that simple recipe soon. Eating any type of green can do a lot for your health which everyone knows. Mostly, I include arai keerai in our diet since it is very good for my kid. Taking keerai as poriyal/kootu will be both healthy and tasty. Today I am going to share with you the Keerai Poriyal - Keerai Curry - Green Curry - Greens Stir Fry Recipe.

Keerai Poriyal - Keerai Curry - Greens Stir Fry Recipe:



Ingredients:


Greens - Required quantity
Big onion - 1 chopped finely
Coconut grated  - Handful
Salt - As required

To Temper:

Oil - 1 tsp
Mustard seeds - 1 tsp
Urad dal - 1/2 tsp
Curry leaves - few
Red chilli - 2 splitted


Preparation:


1. Chop the Keerai/greens finely and clean the keerai/greens well in water. Make sure you dip the keerai/greens in water for few minutes so that the dust including sand will get deposited in the water. 






2. You can pressure cook  keerai/greens with little water for 4 whistles in high flame or you can boil in the pan itself. If you are going to pressure cook it, do this now. Cooking keerai/greens in pressure cooker will take less time than boiling the  keerai/greens in pan.





3. Heat oil in a pan and add the 'To Temper' items one by one. Add onions and fry till it turn to golden brown color.







4. Add keerai/green and salt. If you have already cooked it in pressure cooker, filter the excess water, add it in the pan and you can move to step 5. Otherwise, sprinkle water then and there and cook the keerai/greens.

                               

5. Add grated coconut. Fry for 2 minutes and switch off the stove.
